VISITOR INFORMATION

If you have friends or family visiting Saltspring while you’re racing, or plan to spend time on the Island before or after the race, visit Saltspring Tourism for information on accommodations, restaurants and activities.

Please note that moorage at the Sailing Club is available on Round Saltspring weekend only for registered race boats. Hotel boat moorage elsewhere in the harbour, or shoreside accommodation for visitors, should be arranged in advance.

Saltspring Island Sailing Club will make every effort to provide moorage for all visiting race entrants in Round Saltspring, subject to availability. All boats moored at the Club during race weekend should expect to raft.

Volunteer Wharfingers will monitor VHF Channel 72 during race weekend, assign moorage and assist in tie-up. Please check in at the Club breakwater dock to receive your assignment on arrival.

Please take note of the following and plan accordingly:

MOORAGE

Registered Boats …
Moorage is free to registered boats during race weekend. Specific check-in and departure times will be announced soon. If you wish to arrange moorage before or after those times, please contact our Race Wharfinger well in advance.

Hotel Boats and Other Vessels …
Due to space limitations, no hotel vessels or other vessels not registered to race can expect to be accommodated on club docks during Round Saltspring weekend. Please see item 11 on the Notice of Race for full details.

Anchoring Out …
Any boats associated with the Round Saltspring Race that choose to anchor out, whether registered race boats or other vessels, are requested to anchor well clear of the start line area to avoid interference with the Committee Boat or racing fleet.

Our “house rules” for marina guests apply to all visiting boats. As an all-volunteer club, we ask all Round Saltspring racers to do their part to help keep our docks and facilities clean, safe and pleasant for all. Garbage and recycling receptacles will be found at the pier head and near the Race Pavilion. Portable WC’s will be located at the pier head, and overboard discharge is strictly prohibited in the marina. Due to the number of boats and people at the Club during race weekend, some limitations may apply to normal marina services and amenities, such as water usage.

We welcome you to our docks and hope you have a great race and a safe and memorable weekend!
